One-Off Assignment

Do you need financial guidance for a one-off issue?

Not every financial challenge needs an ongoing advisory relationship. That is why we offer one-off financial assignments: bespoke, fixed-fee engagements that address specific issues or opportunities, with the same level of care and insight that we bring to all our work.

Whether you are navigating a family inheritance or unexpected windfall, selling a business, transferring assets, making sense of a legacy investment portfolio, or addressing a specific tax concern, we are happy to help – provided we believe we can add real value.

Many of our long-standing client relationships began with a one-off assignment. If you are facing a financial decision and would like expert guidance with no ongoing obligation, we will always be open to a conversation.

“Your help and guidance was most invaluable and very much appreciated. I cannot thank you enough for all that you have done for me – you were wonderful.”

Mrs Faulkner

What does a “One-Off Assignment” include?

A one-off assignment gives you access to targeted, independent advice on a specific financial issue — with no ongoing commitment. Typical scenarios include:

  • Selling a business or other major asset
  • Dealing with an inheritance or unexpected windfall
  • Planning how to divide assets fairly
  • Structuring a planned legacy for, or dealing with an inheritance left to a minor or vulnerable individual
  • Making sense of a legacy investment portfolio
  • Reducing the tax impact when selling a second property
  • Exploring your pension options as retirement approaches

We start with an initial conversation to understand your goals and circumstances. If we believe we can add value, we will set out our suggested scope of work and timescale, and agree a fixed fee upfront. Should you decide to proceed, we will start work on the assignment.

Please note: this is not a full financial review or an ongoing service. If broader support is needed, we would be delighted to provide it through our holistic financial planning and wealth management services.

From Complexity to Clarity

A real world example of One-Off Financial Advice in action

A family approached us after inheriting a substantial portfolio of buy-to-let properties. They had no desire to become landlords, and the associated tax liabilities were complex and burdensome.

We designed a phased exit strategy to liquidate the properties over time, using all available allowances to minimise tax exposure. The proceeds were reinvested to create a more diverse, income-generating portfolio aligned with the family’s long-term goals.

This one-off assignment delivered clarity, reduced stress, and helped the family regain control over their financial future.
